RakshSetu ("we", "our", "us") is a family safety and communication application developed by RakshSetu Technologies. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
Account Information: Phone number, display name, email address, and profile photo you provide during registration.
Health Data: With your explicit permission, we access health metrics from Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect, including heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO2), step count, calories burned, walking distance, and sleep duration. This data is used solely to display health information to you and the specific contacts you choose to share with.
Location Data: Location is accessed only when you activate the SOS emergency feature. Your location is shared exclusively with your designated emergency contacts during an active SOS alert.
Messages: All messages are end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read your messages. Encrypted message data is stored on Firebase servers.
Call Data: We store call metadata (caller, receiver, timestamp, duration) to enable call functionality. Audio and video streams are transmitted peer-to-peer using WebRTC with SRTP encryption and are not stored on our servers.
Device Information: Push notification tokens (FCM and VoIP) to deliver notifications.
We use your information to provide and improve RakshSetu's services, including enabling encrypted messaging and calling, displaying health metrics to authorized contacts based on your privacy settings, sending emergency alerts to your designated contacts, delivering medicine reminders, and sending push notifications for calls and messages.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your health data is shared only with contacts you explicitly authorize through the app's privacy settings (Everyone, My Contacts, or Nobody). Emergency contact information is shared only during active SOS alerts.
Data is stored on Google Firebase servers. All messages use end-to-end encryption. Video and audio calls use SRTP encryption. Call signaling uses SSL/TLS encryption. Health data access is controlled by Firestore security rules that restrict access to authorized contacts only.
You can control who sees your health data through privacy settings (Everyone, My Contacts, Nobody, or Selected Contacts). You can download your data from Account Settings. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can revoke health data permissions through your device settings.
We use the following third-party services: Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, push notifications), Apple HealthKit / Google Health Connect (health data access with your permission), and WebRTC (peer-to-peer communication).
RakshSetu is designed for family safety. Users under 13 should use the app under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
Account data is retained while your account is active. Health history data is retained for up to 90 days. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed. Call records are retained for 30 days after the call.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date and through in-app notifications for significant changes.
